MADNESS PHOTOGRAPHY

Madness Photography started as an official, serious company in 1998.
But the history of Madness Photography started long before. Onno “Berserk” Wieringa, founder and owner of Madness Photography, has been a self-taught photographer since he was a little kid and started to take pictures of something he loved since the day he was born: motorcycles!

His motorcycles
After he finished high school, he started working for various Harley-Davidson shops, where he learned to work on bikes. At the age of 17, he already owned two Triumph’s and when he was eighteen he had four Triumphs and a Suzuki GT 750. After getting his drivers license, when he was eighteen, the Triumphs all had to go and were replaced by a bike that he had wanted since the day he was born; a Harley-Davidson. This bike is still in his life; it’s an FXE-F 1200 Super Glide Fat Bob, which has been rebuild and modified endlessly and ridden for many miles. Going everywhere on the bike, there was one thing he always had in his pocket; his camera!
At the age of 23 he started drag racing, and he and his team named “Midnight Madness”, raced the bike on all the major races and drag strips all over Europe. He has competed in many classes; starting with the Street bikes, than Ultimate Street Bike, Super Stock, Pro-Stock, and then finally in the fastest gas burning class; Top Gas! Also again taking thousands of photo’s of everything interesting, at every racetrack! Being a racer for more than 18 years gave him insight in the world of fast bikes, and he’s still involved in the world of drag racing as a helper/mechanic and of course photographer / reporter.

Yes, we survived the biggest and best; Sturgis Bike Week 2013!

With our team we tried to capture the Sturgis Bike Rally 2013:
the People, the Bikes, the Shows, the Music, the Racing, the Scenery and the the Lifestyle.

We went to see Drag Racing where we smelled and tasted burning rubber and nitro fumes, we were biting the dust ‘It’s lonely at the Top’ at Hill Climbing Races,

heard and saw many Live Concerts at the Buffalo Chip,

watched several Custom Bike Shows, Bagger Shows and we participated in the Legends Ride and we joined the Biker Belles

Harley-Davidson Twin-Cooled™ (Liquid and Air Cooled) High Output Twin Cam 103™

Harley-Davidson Twin-Cooled™ High Output Twin Cam 103™

Designed to maintain performance in the most-challenging situations, the new Twin-Cooled™ High Output Twin Cam 103™ powertrain is featured in the 2014 Ultra Limited and Tri Glide™ Ultra models. A combination of air-cooled and precision liquid cooling strategies allow the Twin-Cooled High Output 103 to maintain peak performance under the most demanding loads and riding conditions, and enables a higher 10.1:1 compression ratio for increased power and efficiency. The Twin-Cooled High Output 103 offers 10.7 percent more peak torque than the standard Twin Cam 103 engine. Liquid coolant is routed through the cylinder heads in the area around the exhaust valves and then to ducted heat exchangers located in the left and right fairing lowers.

The precision cooling system is thermostatically controlled, and uses an electric pump to circulate coolant. The Twin-Cooled High Output 103 may also improve thermal comfort to the rider and passenger in extreme conditions, such as stop-and-go traffic in high ambient temperatures. Cylinder head temperatures are lower, the airbox shape improves airflow, and reshaped fairing lowers improve venting of air to the rider and passenger.

Just like we showed you here on Ride-and-Read.com well over two years ago.

H-D says it has no choice; 'If you started in 1909 with the very first Harley-Davidson V-Twin engine and worked your way up through every engine, every innovation, every improvement, every ride, every durability test in all those years and countless miles since, you arrive at the Twin Cooled High Output Twin Cam 103™ engine, the top of the line. 103 cubic inches of air and precision cooled Harley-Davidson®V-twin power.'

Coolant is contained in a small 1.1 quart radiator. Twin Cooling cools the heads around the exhaust ports to deliver at or near peak performance under all operating conditions and temperatures. Harley states a higher compression ratio increasing efficiency and horsepower. The 2014 Ultra Limited and Tri Glide™ Ultra models als
