MADNESS PHOTOGRAPHY

Madness Photography started as an official, serious company in 1998.
But the history of Madness Photography started long before. Onno “Berserk” Wieringa, founder and owner of Madness Photography, has been a self-taught photographer since he was a little kid and started to take pictures of something he loved since the day he was born: motorcycles!

His motorcycles
After he finished high school, he started working for various Harley-Davidson shops, where he learned to work on bikes. At the age of 17, he already owned two Triumph’s and when he was eighteen he had four Triumphs and a Suzuki GT 750. After getting his drivers license, when he was eighteen, the Triumphs all had to go and were replaced by a bike that he had wanted since the day he was born; a Harley-Davidson. This bike is still in his life; it’s an FXE-F 1200 Super Glide Fat Bob, which has been rebuild and modified endlessly and ridden for many miles. Going everywhere on the bike, there was one thing he always had in his pocket; his camera!
At the age of 23 he started drag racing, and he and his team named “Midnight Madness”, raced the bike on all the major races and drag strips all over Europe. He has competed in many classes; starting with the Street bikes, than Ultimate Street Bike, Super Stock, Pro-Stock, and then finally in the fastest gas burning class; Top Gas! Also again taking thousands of photo’s of everything interesting, at every racetrack! Being a racer for more than 18 years gave him insight in the world of fast bikes, and he’s still involved in the world of drag racing as a helper/mechanic and of course photographer / reporter.

CUSTOMBIKE-SHOW 2019 Bad Salzuflen, Germany

CUSTOMBIKE-SHOW 2019 -
the world’s biggest fair for customized motorcycles

On the first weekend of December, the fifteenth anniversary of CUSTOMBIKE-SHOW will take place. Customizers and motorbike enthusiasts from all over the world will once again meet up from December 6 to 8 2019 in Bad Salzuflen.

Over 1000 refined bikes can be admired within the four exhibition halls and more than 300 companies will present everything related to individualizing motorcycles on the 28000 square meters of showroom.

The final of the international German custom bike building championship will be spectacular. Around 300 participants will compete with their unique bikes for titles and trophies in 18 categories.

The special exhibition called »Halbstark«, which roughly translates to adolescent and has a whole exhibition hall dedicated to it, will definitely attract attention. Kreidler, Hercules, Puch and Zündapp were the letterings that once adorned countless children’s rooms. Even today, hearing a rattling reng-deng-deng or smelling a dash of two-stroke oil in the air is enough to send one to a phantastic world of nostalgia.

Bizarre, desirable, dreamlike as well as rare, individual and unreachable exhibits will be on display there. Exhibits that are always on two wheels, always possess 50 cc and always come with a small side of wistfulness.

The supporting program will guarantee great entertainment: color will be worked into skin within the tattoo area, the Tattoo-Starlet election will take place, musical entertainment will be provided by Rocco Recycle and risky maneuvers will be showcased in the steep face. Further attractions, such as body painting demonstrations, the election of Miss CUSTOMBIKE, motorbike premiers, several custom bike presentations and many more will complement the diverse program.

One of the CUSTOMBIKE-SHOW highlights is the European Biker Build-Off. Since 2007, two teams compete each year with one show bike respectively. The framework of the Biker Build-Off is as follows: both teams have three days to complete one custom bike each in front of the fair visitors. The winners will be awarded their prize on Sunday afternoon. At this year’s CUSTOMBIKE-SHOW, the Swiss Sandra and Markus Fröhlich (MCSands Motor Shop) will compete against their German opponents Stephan and Max A. Schneiderbanger (SS Cycle/ Fred Flitzefuß Karosseriebau) for the victory of the European Biker Build-Off 2019.

Both teams are well rehears
